Job Description:

Lead and support seamless fiscal, operational and human resource management systems, procedures, and processes. Specific duties include:

Financial Management key duties include:

  • Lead the annual budget development process, monitor expenditures and variances, and proactively update income and expense projections;

  • Negotiate, prepare, and monitor all vendor and consultant contracts;

  • Perform all balance sheet reconciliations (bank accounts, investments, prepaids, deposits, accruals, depreciation, etc.) and prepare month-end close;

  • Set up and manage people and systems to ensure adherence to restricted budgets, including periodic updates on budget variance and preparation of budget modification documents;

  • Oversee and reconcile travel budgets and compliance with procedures and cost containment;

  • Develop and manage general ledger and manufacturing accounting systems and procedures, coding of payroll and other expenses to various programs through monthly cost allocations;

Human Resources key duties include:

  • Oversee payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, off-boarding, employee check-ins and exit interviews, and other human resource needs;

  • Responsible for all human resources (HR) functions including hiring practices, employee review policies, professional development, and other HR activities;

  • Maintain updated personnel and operations policies and procedures and ensure compliance and;

Operations key duties include:

  • Coordinate with manufacturing and sales team to determine cost and sales price of products;

  • Travel to Myanmar regularly to work directly with Myanmar factory and its staff of 25, including managing operations for quality control and costing matters; resolving all the local tax and payroll matters; holding meetings and resolving any issues with Myanmar regulators and local government officials; and managing product export matters with Myanmar custom authorities. All of these activities will be conducted in the Burmese language.

This role involves frequent travel between the U.S. office and Myanmar factory to manage and consult on accounting and operational matters. Travel constitutes approximately 35% of the time.

Job Requirements:

Requires Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related, and two years of related financial and operations management experience.

Experience must include:

  • Setting priorities and presiding over the operations of a business;

  • Management of day-to-day operations of financial and accounting functions, with direct accountability for budgeting, forecasting, risk management, payroll, contracting with vendors, operational planning and payables/receivables.

 

Must be fluent in spoken and written Burmese in order to oversee and coordinate the operations of the Myanmar factory.
